Mutton Chilly

 

Ingredients  

  • Mutton – ½ kg
  • Fat – 30 gm
  • Onion – 55 gm
  • Garlic – 3
  • Cloves – 3-4
  • Turmeric – a pinch
  • Cumin – a pinch
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Red Chillies – 10 gm
  • Tamarind – 10 gm
  • Salt – to taste

Method          

Clean and cut meat.  Grind chillies, turmeric, ginger, cumin and ½ onion slices. Slice the other ½ of the onion and garlic lightly.  Add powdered cloves and fry.  Add meat and the spices.  Fry well.  Cover pan and cook on slow fire without water for ½ an hour.  Add hot water and salt.  Simmer till meat is tender.  When meat is cooked, add tamarind pulp and cook for a few minutes longer.
