Ahmedabad, June 08 (ANI): After recording overwhelming electoral victory in the country’s most populous Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party is now focusing on Gujarat where polls to the state legislature, are to be held later this year. However, the SP’s endeavors to make its presence felt in the BJP ruled state evoked odd reaction from certain adversaries. The posters of SP featuring images of the party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav was recently smeared by black paint and ink in the state. The Samajwadi Party also condemned the acts and termed it as a cowardly act of communal elements who are opposed to secular principles preached and practiced by SP. Gujarat happens to be a stronghold of India’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently it is headed by the party stalwart Narendra Modi.
